Profile

Formally trained in Fine Art as a painter, I began learning web-design after graduating from a Master's course in Fine Art where I specialized in video and digital media, and have been practicing, studying and broadening my knowledge of web-design and application development since 2006. I am currently developing a portfolio of work consisting of small sites for individual artists. Although my experience is in creating sites for artists and photographers I have gained confidence with a range of skills that are applicable in many areas of web-design, namely dynamic site design using PHP and MySQL, database creation, an understanding of security issues and safeguards relating to content management systems, javascript for a range of applications, Flash embedding with interactivity, working around browser inconsistencies and integrating plug-in resources such as TinyMCE to name a few. I like to bring my eye for aesthetics developed through many years practice of painting to the design process and combine this with an understanding of good web practices.
