“Often I find there is a barrier between what my intentions are and what I can produce. My work is partly about negotiating this barrier. It is also about the exploration of ideas, my own psyche and the potential both of moving images and physical installations. My main intentions are to create objects that inspire intrigue, curiosity or wonder, to give some kind of pleasurable experience, or to parody an aspect of human behaviour.

I have some favourite themes; the dual screen, water as a symbol of the mystery of life and the subconscious, the veil or mask, in a fairly broad interpretation, humour and the intertwined relationship between the so-called 'pleasing/beautiful', and the so-called 'unpleasant/horror'. I often make explicit references to painting, since that was the main focus and my first medium in art, before I began making videos."
